We are on a mission to amplify Africa’s voice.

Prosperity, Not Poverty (PNP) is a North American initiative created to advance common-sense energy policies to foster prosperity for the developing world.

At PNP we believe that the citizens of poorer nations have a right to pursue happiness, prosperity, and human flourishing, and that enabling them to make use of their countries’ natural resources, including oil and natural gas, is among the best ways to do that.

We stand against the conventional and hypocritical thinking of many in more developed countries, thinking which tries to dictate how developing countries manage their natural resources – including energy resources – while allowing developed countries to enjoy the fruits of resource extraction in free and open markets.

Magatte Wade is co-founder of Prospera Africa, the world’s leading governance platform for Special Economic Zones, and Senior Fellow at Atlas Network, the leading organization of African free-market think tanks. She was listed as a Forbes “20 Youngest Power Women in Africa,” a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, and a TED Global Africa Fellow.

Magatte is the bestselling author of The Heart of A Cheetah, and the host of The Magatte Wade Show. She’s spoken at the United Nations, Aspen Institute, Harvard, Oxford, Stanford, Yale, MIT, and the TED mainstage. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, the BBC, CNN, Fast Company, Fortune, and the Huffington Post. She has been on both Lex Fridman and Jordan Peterson’s podcasts (where she was among the most popular guests), with over 10 million views.

Julie Gaudreau

Executive Director

Julie Gaudreau is the Executive Director of Prosperity, Not Poverty, a North American initiative with a mandate to advocate for the citizens of poorer nations by advancing their right to pursue happiness, prosperity, and human flourishing through reliable access to affordable energy.

Previously, Ms. Gaudreau helped organize a Canada-Japan trade mission on energy and served as Executive Director of IGRC2024, a global gas innovation conference for the Canadian Gas Association (CGA). She has also served as Senior Counsel – Strategic Advice to the Executive Vice-President, Corporate Services at CN, one of North America’s leading railroads and held a senior advisor position in the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada, where she was responsible for stakeholder relations. Ms. Gaudreau is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Laval University and was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1997.
